The user accounts in the "Student Assessment System" fall into 3 categories: School Administrator, Teacher and Student. Each user will be provided with a user account to logon the system. Different types of users possess different privileges. The functions of each user are detailed as follows:
School Administrator
The School Administrator can store, retrieve and manage information and user accounts of his/her own school.
Teacher
The teacher can store, retrieve and manage his/her students' information and student user accounts. The teacher can create and conduct Student Assessment for his/her classes and retrieve the corresponding reports and other analytical results after the assessment.
Student
The student can store, retrieve and manage his/her own information, take the assessments prepared by his/her teacher and view his/her own assessment reports and analytical results.
The teacher can use the following methods to create an assessment for his/her students:
Using the Assessment Bank
The system has prepared a number of pre-defined assessments for each subject. The teacher may select suitable assessments for his/her students.
Using an existing assessment as a template
The teacher may use his/her past assessments, which are stored in the system, as templates to create new asssements by making appropriate modifications.
Using the item bank
The teacher may create his/her own assessment by using suitable seach criteria.
Using the pretest
The teacher may create his/her assessment by using the online pretest for each subject.
When the assessment ends, all answers will be marked by the system automatically (except for writing and speaking tasks). The student may retrieve his/her own student reports while the teacher can access both students' individual and class reports of the assessment.
