Web-based operational skills
The students have to master five basic web-based operational skills when they answer the online items:
Click
Highlight
Multiple answer boxes
Drag and drop
Drop-down list
Please go to the "Demo Kit" Website to practise the following basic web-based operational skills.
Click
When the mouse pointer rests on the object to be chosen, it will change to the "click" icon . The students can choose the object by pressing the left button of the mouse.
Highlight
The students can highlight the words or sentences to be chosen. When the mouse pointer rests on the words to be chosen, it will change to the "highlight" icon . The students can choose the words or sentences by both pressing the left button of the mouse and dragging the mouse across the words. The highlighted words will appear in the answer box when the students release the left button. The students can erase the answer by clicking the "eraser" icon .
Multiple answer boxes
When there are two or more answer boxes on the screen, the students must place the cursor in one of the answer boxes (by placing the mouse pointer over the answer box and pressing the left button). The answers can be put in the answer boxes by using the "click" or "highlight" skills.
Drag and drop
The "drag and drop" icon prompts the students to use the "drag and drop" skill to answer the question. When the mouse pointer rests on the object to be chosen, the mouse pointer will change to the "drag and drop" icon. The students can move the object to the appropriate position by both pressing the left button of the mouse and dragging the mouse. The position of the object is fixed by releasing the left button.

When answers are in a drop-down list , click on the blank to see the choices.
